Bruins wrapped up Day 1 at OSAA 3A Track & Field State Championships on Thursday and are on Day 2 today at Hayward Track & Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene.

Oceana Powers-Schmitz placed 8th overall in the girls pole vault, clearing 2.72 meters, or 8 feet, 11 inches, and earning a team point for the Bruins.
Kaiya Evans had a standout day on the track, qualifying for the finals in both sprint events. She placed 4th in the girls 100m prelims with a time of 12.51 and 5th in the girls 200m prelims with a time of 25.84. Kaiya will race in both finals tonight.
Johanna Larson competed in the girls' 400m prelims, finishing 11th overall with a time of 1:01.89, just off her 1:00.05 PR.
Patrick Hatch will compete Friday in the boys javelin at 3:00 p.m. and boys discus at 6:30 p.m.
Congratulations to our Bruins on a great start at state! We’ll be cheering them on as the competition continues.
