Description

Drivers fill their vehicles at an Ohio gas station as fuel prices hover near $4 per gallon. Officials in Toledo and Lucas County say greater access to fuel-efficient vehicles, hybrids and electric vehicles could help households reduce long-term transportation costs.

As gasoline prices in Ohio remain near the $4-per-gallon mark, local leaders in northwest Ohio are urging policymakers to continue investing in cleaner transportation options they say could help families cope with volatile fuel costs while strengthening the region’s economy. According to AAA, Ohio’s average price for regular gasoline was about $3.90 per gallon on Aug. 10, with some areas of the state seeing prices above $4.
