Description

Rich White, owner of Good Green Neighbors, operates an electric-powered leaf blower on a sidewalk in Southeast Portland. The city's phase-in ban on gas leaf blowers begins in January 2026.

Portland landscape businesses and residents will need to start getting rid of their gas-powered leaf blowers starting next year, but the money to subsidize and enforce the long-sought-after transition to electric equipment is at risk, city and county officials say.
