File photo of former Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt. Schmidt served one term and in 2024 lost to Nathan Vasquez, a longtime prosecutor, after a bruising campaign that split the Multnomah County DA’s office and shattered fundraising records. Now Kirsten Snowden, a top prosecutor in the office, is suing the county and the DA's office alleging Schmidt retaliated against her when he was in office.

A senior prosecutor in the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office is suing her own office and the county over retaliation she said she experienced under her previous boss, Mike Schmidt.
