Thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding, damaging winds and heavy rainfall are forecast across parts of the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic as multiple weather systems move across the United States. (AP Photo/Obed Lamy)

Forecasters are warning that multiple weather hazards will affect large sections of the United States through midweek, with severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and dangerous heat expected to impact millions from the Plains to the East Coast. Weather officials say the combination of strong storm systems and persistent summer heat could create hazardous conditions in several regions.
