Coos County Sheriff’s Office introduces new online Concealed Handgun License (CHL)
application, appointment scheduling and payment program

COQUILLE, OR – The Coos County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is launching a new program in their Concealed Handgun Licensing (CHL) Department called “Permitium”.

Permitium allows citizens
to make appointments, apply for new or renewal CHL licenses, monitor application status, upload required documentation and pay for CHLs online.

Permitium also allows citizens to schedule and pay for fingerprinting services not related to Concealed Handgun Licenses online.

This new system will shorten and simplify the appointment process which will also allow CCSO staff to see more applicants each day.

Additionally, it will allow CCSO staff the ability to get an earlier start on the comprehensive background check process, resulting in shorter wait times for applicants to receive their license.

“We are in the habit of researching new ways to serve the public, especially if they can help streamline
efficiencies. Applicants will still be able to walk in during the week, but giving them the ability to
schedule their own appointments, pay before they get here and have an electronic option in addition
to the paper is a win-win.” said Sheriff Fabrizio

Residents who are unable to make appointments online or use a credit/debit card can come down to the CHL Department Tuesday – Friday 8:30am-11:00am and 1:00pm-4:00pm to: apply
for or renew their CHL license, pay for the appointment, and schedule CHL or fingerprinting appointments.

Those coming to the CCSO CHL Department in person will need to bring proper documentation for the application. Applicants will be able to schedule their CHL appointment on the concealed handgun license tab
of our website at
https://co.coos.or.us/concealed-handgun-licensing starting August 11, 2026.
