On Friday at 1:06 p.m. a flash flood watch was released by the National Weather Service valid for Saturday, Aug. 23 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon, John Day Basin and Ochoco-John Day Highlands.

The weather service states, "Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. Rain rates of 1 inch per hour possible within thunderstorm cells."
