UO release - EUGENE, Ore. – On day two of the Major League Baseball Draft, five Oregon Ducks were picked on the final day of the draft with outfielder Mason Neville, starting pitchers Jason Reitz and Grayson Grinsell, first baseman Jacob Walsh and catcher/outfielder Anson Aroz all having their names called on Monday.  Neville and Reitz were both selected in the fourth round, Grinsell followed in the sixth round, Walsh in the 15th round and Aroz in the 19th. The three picks in the top six rounds tied for the most picks in the first six rounds of the draft in program history. Oregon's four picks in the top 15 rounds was one shy of tying the program-best five that were selected in the 2023 draft. Five players drafted in the top 20 rounds tied for the second most in program history, behind only the six drafted in the 2011 draft.  The Cincinnati Reds selected Neville with the ninth pick of the day (No. 114 overall). It marked the second time that the Reds picked the Las Vegas native, who was Cincinnati's 18th round pick in 2022 after graduating from high school. Neville joined Joey Housey (2012) as the only Ducks selected by the Reds, while also becoming the sixth-highest position player and second highest Ducks' outfielder to be selected in the MLB Draft. Neville's selection also marked the sixth straight draft that an Oregon outfielder (not including COVID-19 five-round draft in 2020) has been chosen. He joins Byrce Boettcher (2024), Colby Shade (2023), Anthony Hall (2022), Aaron Zavala (2021) and Jonny DeLuca (2019).  The Minnesota Twins drafted Reitz (No. 119 overall) five picks after the Reds took Neville, giving Oregon two-or-more players drafted in the same round of a draft for just the fifth time. The Ducks had three players drafted in the 13th round last year, two drafted in both the 10th and 18th rounds in 2013, and two drafted in the 27th round in 2012. Reitz is the fifth sixth Oregon player drafted by the Twins joining Jace Stoffal (2023), Spencer Steer (2019), Jake Reed (2014), Madison Boer (2011) and Alex Keudell (2011).  The Detroit Tigers picked Grinsell with the 189th overall pick. He became just the second Oregon player ever selected by the Tigers, joining Drew Gagnier (2010). The third-team All-American became the 22nd-highest Oregon MLB draft pick in the modern era and the 14th-highest Ducks pitcher to be selected. Grinsell's selection marked the 15th time in the last 16 MLB drafts (not counting the five-round 2020 draft) that Oregon has had multiple pitchers selected.  The Washington Nationals made Walsh the 441st overall pick. He joins Isaac Ayon (2023) as the only Ducks ever drafted by the Nats. Walsh became just the second Oregon first baseman selected, joining Ryon Healy (2013). He also is the first Duck ever selected in the 15th round of a MLB draft.  Aroz was the fifth Duck taken during day two of the draft when the Los Angeles Dodgers selected him with the 585th overall pick. Selected as a catcher despite playing most of his junior year in left field, Aroz became the fifth Duck to be drafted by the Dodgers.  He joins Ayon (2024), Jonny DeLuca (2019), Kyle Garlick (2015) and Scott McGough (2011). He is also the sixth Oregon catcher to be picked in the modern era.
