Description

Beginning this month, workers in Oregon and Washington can collect unemployment benefits while on strike. But the U.S. Department of Labor warns those striking workers must also be seeking other jobs to be eligible for aid.

Oregon’s new law authorizing unemployment assistance to striking workers could face a challenge from the federal government, which warned states last week about paying people on strike unless those people are also actively looking for new jobs.
