The judge rejected what the prosecutor and defense lawyer jointly recommended - a sentence of time served, essentially the 68 days in jail Steven D. Willis served in the case.

A man who sent threatening letters to kill, stalk and terrorize a federal judge in Oregon and harm three Portland police officers was sentenced Monday to slightly over a year in prison.
