Description

Leaders of more than 35 organizations that serve Black Portlanders are calling on Portland Public Schools to publicly commit to a site for its long-delayed Center for Black Student Excellence within two months.

Voters in 2020 approved $60 million in bond funding to establish such a center, envisioned as a centralized hub where Black students and their families could get help improving children’s and teen’s academic outcomes and sense of belonging.
