On Thursday at 12:41 p.m. an extreme heat warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 8 p.m. for Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon, Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon, Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon, Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon and North Central Oregon.

The weather service comments, “Dangerously hot conditions with afternoon high temperatures of 90 to 100 degrees expected. This will pose a major risk of heat-related illness.”
