On Monday at 1:52 p.m. the National Weather Service released an extreme heat warning in effect until Tuesday at 10 p.m. for Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon, Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.

The weather service states, "Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 100 to 103 degrees expected. This will pose a moderate to major risk of heat-related illness."
