Aaron Stanton, 40, was shot and killed on the front deck of his Southeast Portland house in July 2022 after a witness said he was firing a gun into the air.

A wrongful death lawsuit can proceed against Portland police in the fatal shooting of a man who repeatedly fired a pistol into the air from his front deck in 2022, a federal judge has ruled.
