Oregon ethics officials will investigate whether six Portland city councilors violated public meetings law when they met for a private August retreat.

At approximately 3:02 pm, 45 year old Glenn Allen Burkhow escaped custody when he had ran from a Deputy at Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach. Burkhow was in custody after being arrested by U.S. Marshals on Curry County warrants on 12/09/2025. Burkhow had been transported to Curry General Hospital earlier in the day on 12/13/2025 for a suspected medical issue and after being cleared to return to jail, he took off running. Burkhow should be considered dangerous but there is no indication that he is armed.
