Local government gained 40 jobs and federal government employment fell by 20 jobs over the year. Curry County payroll employment rose by 40 jobs in February. Employment changes were small with construction; professional and business services; private education and health services; and leisure and hospitality up by 10 jobs over the month. Over the past year, Curry County payroll employment fell by 40 jobs, a decrease of 0.6%. Losses were estimated in leisure and hospitality (-60); retail trade (-30); and financial activities (-20). A few industries added jobs over the year, including manufacturing (+20), health care (+30), and state government (+20).
