PPS board members are to vote on Sept. 9 whether to approve a purchasing agreement for the One North building. The move will set in motion a 90-day due diligence period.

Amid intense community pressure last spring, Portland Public Schools was forced to hurriedly revise its school bond measure to more closely match Portland families’ priorities. So, you would think the district would have learned the importance of transparency and timely public scrutiny on big projects.
