βΉοΈ Why the change? Oregon State Parks is charging a parking fee at Harris Beach (and 21 other parks) to address a projected 14% budget shortfall by building a more financially resilient future for the parks system. Factors contributing to the shortfall include increasing operational and maintenance costs, record-high visitor numbers, and a decrease in Oregon Lottery funds for park operations. Implementing fees is one strategy to supplement funding and maintain services for visitors.
