🚨Deputy B. Freerksen Makes DUII Arrest on March 28🚨
On March 28, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM, Deputy Freerksen was patrolling the Bunker Hill area of Coos Bay when he observed a teal 2003 PT Cruiser traveling the wrong way on Edwards Road. The vehicle’s registration was expired, displayed an altered or illegal tag, and lacked insurance.
Deputy Freerksen conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 101 and Alder Avenue, identifying the driver as Cody R. Dye (32). During the interaction, Deputy Freerksen noted Dye’s slurred speech and glossy, red eyes. When asked, Dye consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs).
Following the tests, Deputy Freerksen arrested Dye and transported him to the Coos Bay Police Department for further testing. He was issued criminal citations for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Reckless Driving, and Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor).
"Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."
