On Tuesday, Atrops' estranged husband was sentenced to life in prison for her murder. “Deborah Atrops is one who predicted her own murder by telling family and friends and that in the weeks leading up to her murder, that if anything happens to me, it was the defendant,” prosecutor Allison Brown told the court.

The man convicted of killing his wife in a nearly 40-year-old cold case won’t have a shot at parole for 25 years — a sentence that all but guarantees he’ll spend the rest of his life behind bars given his age.
