On February 13th, 2026, at 10:22 p.m., Deputy M.R. Smith was conducting patrol in the Lakeside area and was currently on an unrelated traffic stop on Airport Way near North 8Th. While on the traffic stop, Deputy M.R. Smith observed a traffic crash on the other side of the intersection.  
  
Laurie E. Lindsay (60) crashed her 2016 Ford F-150 on the adjacent corner of North 8th and Airport Way, where Deputy M.R. Smith was already conducting the traffic stop.   
  
Deputy M.R. Smith immediately ran over to Mrs. Lindsay and determined she was not injured, however her vehicle was teetering on a large concrete block.  
  
An investigation into the crash resulted in the arrest of Laurie E. Lindsay (60) on the charge of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. The vehicle was removed from the location by Mast Brothers Towing.  
  
Mrs. Lindsay was transported to the North Bend Police Department for additional testing and later released on citation.
