WASHINGTON — Millions of Americans are expected to experience dangerous heat through the Independence Day holiday as a sprawling heat dome continues to push temperatures and humidity to hazardous levels across much of the Midwest, South and East Coast. Forecasters say the prolonged stretch of extreme heat could create life-threatening conditions, particularly for vulnerable populations and people spending extended time outdoors.
