EUGENE — Dan Lanning supports the proposal for only one transfer window in college football, though he’d still like to see the season end earlier in order to make for a more seamless offseason calendar.

As the Division I FBS oversight committee recommended a shift to a 10-day transfer window from January 2-11, which would replace the existing 20-day period in December and a 10-day period in April, Lanning said he supports “one window more than anything.” But the fourth-year Oregon coach has also consistently voiced his support for having the college football season end on January 1, which would make personnel movement easier to navigate than having teams still playing in the College Football Playoff have to manage rosters amid the postseason.
