CBPD release - A Coos Bay woman has been arrested after stealing over $22,000 from a local business.  On November 21, 2024, the Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD) received a report of an internal employee theft at McDonald's, 772 S Broadway St, in Coos Bay. The theft, which occurred over a couple-month period, was related to over $22,000 worth of bank deposits from the business that were not delivered to the bank.  Officers contacted the suspect, 28-year-old Melinda McCormick of Coos Bay, and were able to recover all but approximately $4,700 worth of the missing bank deposits. Ms. McCormick was arrested on the charge of aggravated theft in the first degree and transported to the Coos County Jail.
