🚨Convicted Sex-Offender Arrested for Failure to Register🚨 On June 23, 2025, at approximately 12:20 PM, Deputy Z. Smith observed a red 2004 Ford Focus commit a traffic violation near Libby Lane and Shinglehouse Road. A traffic stop was conducted near Southwest Blvd and Pennsylvania Road in Coos Bay. The driver, identified as Dennis Steinhoff (64), was found to be non-compliant with his mandated sex offender registration due to a prior conviction. Deputy Smith took Steinhoff into custody and transported him to Coos County Jail for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Following a thorough check, jail staff determined Steinhoff was to be released in compliance with SB 48, as no overriding factors were present.
