The Oregon Pioneer, commonly known as the Gold Man, stands atop the Oregon State Capitol in Salem on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. An Oregon ballot initiative aims to ban corporate campaign contributions. It would go before voters in 2028.

Supporters of campaign contribution limits and transparency who have long been stymied at the Oregon Legislature will look to voters to block businesses, unions and other organizations from spending to influence elections.
