Description

The city of Portland, as well as neighboring cites in all three metro counties, have opened thousands of new shelter beds since 2020 with the help of funding from the Metro homeless services tax. The alternative shelter pod shown here opened to guests in North Portland this winter.

A coalition of housing services providers, business leaders and community groups that support the renewal of Metro’s homeless services tax plan to ask the regional government to delay referring an extension and revision of the measure to the May ballot.
