Climber dies after falling 300 feet on Mount Hood, sheriff’s office says

A climber died after falling about 300 feet on Mount Hood on Sunday, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Witnesses called 911 at about 9:45 a.m. after seeing the climber fall near Devil’s Kitchen, a headwall that reaches an elevation of more than 10,000 feet.
