AZALEA FESTIVAL 2026
“LIVING IN PARADISE”
Planning and prepping for this year’s 87th Azalea Festival is underway! The annual event held over Memorial Day weekend will be May 22nd thru May 25th. This year’s theme is “Living in Paradise”.
Long time local community members Dick and Ruth Wilson have been selected as the 2026 Azalea Festival Grand Marshals. Dick and Ruth have been Brookings residents since 1970 and are well-known members of the Brookings-Harbor Community. They both served as teachers in the Brookings-Harbor School District for many years and Dick also spent years coaching and serving as Athletic Director.
All vendor spots have already been filled for the Street Market on Frontage Road and the Saturday morning parade will happen rain or shine. The increasingly popular Friday night Dance Party in Azalea Park will start the weekend event off.
Additional weekend park events will include the Pioneer Citizens introduction, Elks BBQ, concerts on Saturday and Sunday, a Sunday morning community church service and the Brookings Got Talent show comes back for it’s second year.
Some of the annual stakeholder events to name a few will include the Quilt Show, Art Show, Masonic Breakfast, Kids Fishing Pond and back this year – Sunday Airport Day.
A Monday Memorial Day program is planned by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 966, however one event that will not happen is the flyover by the F-15 jets of the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base. The F-15 jets have been relocated as the base is transitioning. Other options are being looked into.
