The famous Cirque du Soleil tents are set up in the Portland Expo Center's parking lot in August 2024, a few days before a performer Mariia Konfektova was badly injured in a fall.

A Cirque du Soleil aerial acrobat who broke 11 bones after plunging to the ground in front of a stunned Portland audience in 2024 has filed a $16.75 million lawsuit against the traveling circus company — claiming that it failed to place safety mats beneath her.
