The family of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk released a statement Tuesday after a judge ruled the murder case against the Utah man accused of assassinating Kirk last year is headed for trial.

After 22 years of service, we're wishing Detective Victor Kamenir all the best as he retires from the Hillsboro Police Department on Monday, August 31st. Victor joined HPD in January 2004 and spent the last twelve years as a Detective, building deep expertise in complex fraud investigations as a Certified Fraud Examiner, along with his work on Human Trafficking cases. Before HPD, he spent time in the private sector and served eight years in the United States Army as an Interrogator and Military Language Instructor. Victor isn't hanging it up just yet. He's taking on a new role with the Oregon Department of Justice, and we couldn't be prouder to see him continue serving. Thank you, Victor, for 22 years of dedication to this department and our community.
