Description

Two Oregon tribal members fish for salmon at Celilo Falls, Oregon in 1941. The lost waterfall will be remembered in an Oregon Symphony during early June performances of “Celilo Falls: We Were There,” which combines music, spoken word and photography.

“Timelessness is a huge theme,” said Nancy Ives in describing her music for orchestra and spoken voice, “Celilo Falls.” “Native peoples have lived in the Columbia River Gorge for 18,000 years.”
