CCSO release - Coos County Sheriff's Office will conduct a seatbelt enforcement blitz from August 18 to September 1. Deputies will focus on ensuring drivers and passengers are buckled up. This effort aims to promote safety and reduce injuries on our roads. Please wear your seatbelt and drive responsibly.
DUII Blitz, Coos Co.
CCSO release - Coos County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a DUII Blitz from August 13 to September 1, 2025. Deputies will increase patrols to identify and arrest impaired drivers. We urge the public to drive sober, plan ahead for a safe ride home, and report suspected DUII to 911. Help us keep our roads safe.
Derelict Vessel Removed from Marshfield Channel
CCSO release - Great News for Our Boating Community. On August 14, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office Marine Division successfully removed the abandoned derelict vessel, “Money Pit,” from the Marshfield Channel. The vessel was safely towed to Charleston Shipyards and removed by Mast Brothers. This is a big win for our local boaters, as the “Money Pit” will no longer pose a hazard in the bay. Domestic Violence Arrest, Lakeside
CCSO release - On August 14, 2025, at approximately 5:14 PM, Sergeant A. Slater responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Reavis Road, Lakeside. The report involved a conflict between a man and a woman. During the investigation, Sergeant Slater determined that the female, Mason Pittaro-Henry (age 25), had assaulted her boyfriend while he was holding an infant. Due to the presence of a minor during the incident, the assault was classified as a felony. Pittaro-Henry was arrested and transported to Coos County Jail, charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree - Domestic Violence. On August 15, 2025, Pittaro-Henry appeared in court, where the charge was reduced to Harassment - Domestic Violence. She posted bail later that day and was released from custody. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
