Warrant Arrest, Charleston Boat Basin
CCSO release - Date/Time: March 2nd, 2026 at around 12:30 PM; Case #: S202600322; Classification: Warrant Arrest; Location: Boat Basin Rd, Coos Bay, OR; Suspect(s): Venassa Epperson (31); Summary: Animal Control Complaint Leads to Warrant Arrest. On March 2nd, 2026, at around 12:30 PM, Animal Control Deputy Paterson was out near Boat Basin Road in Coos Bay investigating an animal complaint he had received. Someone had reported seeing a black and white Pitbull that appeared to be locked in a car by itself for several days in a row. Deputy Paterson located the dog, and learned through his investigation, that the person responsible for the dog was Venassa Epperson (31). Deputy Paterson was able to locate Epperson, and detained her until Deputy Converse arrived. Deputy Converse arrested Epperson for an outstanding Warrant, and Deputy Paterson successfully rescued the dog, and took it back to the animal shelter for a nice meal and some proper care. Stalking Order, Cape Arago Hwy.
CCSO release - Case #: S2026-00326. On March 3rd, 2026, at 1:13 p.m., Sgt. J. Boswell responded to a residence in the 9000 Block of Cape Arago Hwy to a report of a stalking order being actively violated. Valerio Sandoval (69) was contacted and found to be in violation of a stalking order. Mr. Sandoval was transported to the Coos County Jail on the charge of Violation of a Stalking Order. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
Restraining Order Violation, Coos Bay
CCSO release - Case #: S2026-00323; On March 2nd, 2026, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Sgt. J. Clayburn and Deputy J. Lay responded to the 6300 Block of Third Road, Coos Bay, Oregon, to further investigate a reported violation of a restraining order. While at the location, the suspect, John E. Bailey (57), arrived in his pick-up truck. Deputies challenged Mr. Bailey and attempted to pull him from the pick-up. Mr. Bailey resisted and sped towards a deputy and then fled the area. A slow speed police pursuit ensued from Bunker Hill, through Coos Bay, North Bend, and ending on Wildwood Road. North Bend Police and Oregon State Police both assisted with spike strips during the chase, ultimately bringing it to a safe resolution. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the involved agencies and the North Coos Dispatch Center for their coordination during this incident. “Police action is not indicative of guilt.
