Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay - Pickup/Drop-off Eastside, Friday, February 21 at the Eastside Fire Station, 365 D Street, Coos Bay, 9:00am – 9:30am.  Return or pick up library materials every Friday in front of the Eastside Fire Department.  Pickup/Drop-off Empire, Friday, February 21 at the Empire Fire Station, 189 S Wall Street, Coos Bay, 10:00am – 10:30am, Pickup or drop-off library materials in front of the Empire Fire Station.  Game Night - Friday, February 21 in the Myrtlewood Room, 6:00pm – 9:00pm.  Join us at the library for Game Night! New and experienced gamers (teen-adult) are invited to come join the fun this Friday 6:00pm – 9:00pm in the Myrtlewood Room. We will have snacks and a variety of games from the library's collection to choose from, or attendees are welcome to bring a game to share.  Writers Group - Saturday, February 22 in the Cedar Room, 10:00am – 11:00am, Enjoy some coffee and light snacks while we work on writing prompts.  Share ideas and get feedback on writing works.  Spend time with like minded individuals working on their writing.  Bring your own works, coffee and snacks will be provided.  Paint the Library - Saturday, February 22 in the Myrtlewood Room, 12:00pm – 2:00pm, “I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.” Jorge Luis Borges.  Take inspiration in this challenge to use reference photos to paint.  We will be using photos of the library through the decades as the reference material.  But we also welcome abstract ideas, such as painting what the library means to you.  What do you think of when you think of a library?  What color represents the library to you?  How does the library make you feel?  Express and answer these questions on canvas.  Learn a little about abstracting your subject matter, brush strokes, and how to set up grid lines to paint. Jorge Luis Borges.  Inspírate en este reto que utilizar fotos de referencia para pintar.  Utilizaremos fotos de la biblioteca de diferentes décadas como material de referencia.  Pero también damos la bienvenida a ideas abstractas, como pintar lo que significa la biblioteca para ti.  ¿En qué piensas cuando piensas en una biblioteca?  ¿Qué color representa la biblioteca para ti?  ¿Cómo te hace sentir la biblioteca?  Expresa y responde estas preguntas en el lienzo.  Aprende un poco sobre cómo abstraer el tema, las pinceladas y cómo configurar líneas de cuadrícula para pintar.  Pero lo más importante es divertirse mientras pintas.  Winter Reading - Warm Up with a Good Book, Join our Winter Reading Challenge December 6 – February 28.  Curl up with a book this winter! It's easy to participate this year-read three books and get a free Coos Bay Public Library mug and cocoa to commemorate your effort. One entry per person.
