Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay, OR - Pickup/Drop-off Eastside, Friday, December 19 at the Eastside Fire Station, 365 D Street, Coos Bay, 9:00am – 9:30am. Return or pick up library materials every Friday in front of the Eastside Fire Department. Pickup/Drop-off Empire, Friday, December 19 at the Empire Fire Station, 189 S Wall Street, Coos Bay, 10:00am – 10:30am. Pickup or drop-off library materials in front of the Empire Fire Station. Tween Club, Friday, December 19 in the Cedar Room, 3:00pm – 4:30pm. The Coos Bay Public Library is starting a Tween Club for tweens age 10-14 (5th-8th grade). Join us for arts, crafts, conversations and snacks every third Friday of the month. Dungeons & Dragons at the Library, Friday, December 19 in the Cedar Room, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. You find some rest after a long day of solving mysteries. Game Night, Friday, December 19 in the Myrtlewood Room, 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Join us at the library for Game Night! New and experienced gamers (teen-adult) are invited to come join the fun this Friday 6pm - 9pm in the Myrtlewood Room. We will have snacks and a variety of games from the library's collection to choose from, or attendees are welcome to bring a game to share. Bat Box Making: Session 1, Saturday, December 20 in the Myrtlewood Room, 10:00am – 11:30am. Help create valuable bat habitat and learn more about local bats at a hands-on bat box building program at the Coos Bay Public Library. South Slough Reserve Education Staff will lead the one of a kind program designed for young people and families. Supplies provided, one bat box per family or group. REGISTRATION, Limited space available; pre-registration required. Register only one "point person" per group or family. Registration will open on November 20. Register [Currently Waitlisted]. ¡Spanglish! Conversational Program, Saturday, December 20 in the Stacks. 10:30am – 11:30am. We meet at the library every third Saturday @ 10:30am! Program is for those who wish to practice their Spanish conversational skills and help other learners in a friendly setting. Attendees will have the opportunity to converse in Spanish as a group for one hour in a casual, informal environment. This is NOT a class but we will provide ideas for conversational topics. Beginners are welcome. ¡Vamos a hablar! Program is FREE and open to everyone. Practice your Spanish using our Free (w/your library card) language resource, Mango. Craft Takeout, Kits become available at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 20 at the Circulation Desk. Calling all crafty teens and adults! Have an appetite to get creative? Pick up a free monthly Craft Takeout kit in the library on the 3rd Saturday of each month. How-to instructions and everything needed to create the monthly project will be included in each Craft Takeout kit. Limit one Craft Takeout kit per person. Kits are available for pickup in the library while supplies last. A limited number of kits are available and are first come, first serve. Please consider donating a bag of fabric to the Coos Bay Library for use in our twice-monthly sewing classes with OCATEC. Limit one bag per person per week. 100% cotton or linen fabrics only, please. We are unable to accept fabrics which have been exposed to cigarette smoke. Our sewing classes are free to the public and enormously popular, so your donation goes a long way towards keeping fabric arts alive in our community.
