Description

The Coos County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Gabe Fabrizio, is joining the national Click It or Ticket campaign from May 19 to June 1, 2025. This high-visibility enforcement effort aims to save lives by ensuring everyone buckles up, especially during the Memorial Day holiday.  "Seat belt use should be an automatic habit," says Sheriff Fabrizio. "It’s not just safe—it’s the law. Our deputies will be out in force to make sure this message hits home."  Why it matters:  •In 2023, nearly 9% of drivers and passengers didn’t buckle up, risking their lives.  •Over half of males killed in crashes were unrestrained, compared to 41% of females.  •Nighttime is critical, with more unrestrained fatalities occurring after dark.  "If this campaign saves even one life, it’s a success," Sheriff Fabrizio adds. "We urge everyone to make buckling up a habit and remind friends and family to do the same."  Let’s make Coos County’s roads safer. Click It or Ticket—buckle up every time!  Learn more at NHTSA.gov/ClickIt.  Stay safe, Coos County!
