OSP release - BENTON COUNTY, Ore. (17 Sept. 2026) – The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is asking for the public’s help to identify the person(s) responsible for the unlawful take of a buck deer that was killed with a spear near Monroe in Benton County. On September 9, 2026, OSP Fish and Wildlife troopers responded to a report of a dead buck deer on private property near Cox Lane and Foster Road outside Monroe. Troopers located the buck with a spear lodged in the animal, and the deer had been left to waste. OSP Fish and Wildlife is asking anyone who may have information regarding this incident, or who observed any suspicious activity in the area, to contact the Turn In Poachers (TIP) hotline at 1-800-452-7888 or call *OSP (*677) from a mobile phone.
