***Bike Rodeos*** Coquille School Resource Deputy J. Owens took it upon himself to host several “Bike Rodeos,” with the kiddos from the Coquille School District over the summer. The attendees were taught safe bicycle operation and provided with bicycle helmets thanks to the generosity of Walmart Coos Bay and their associates. Deputy Owens also hosts a driver education training for the students as part of his role as the School Resource Deputy. This is a position that the Coquille School District has partnered with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office to provide a Deputy available to students for guidance, safety, and training.
