On Thursday at 1:18 p.m. a beach hazards statement was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Saturday 11 p.m. until Sunday 11 a.m. for South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast.
“Moderate risk of sneaker waves expected,” explains the weather service. “A short period northwest swell and a building long northwest swell may combine their energy to produce dangerous surges. The risk will be highest around sunrise on Sunday morning.”
