BANDON – The Bandon branch of Banner Bank held its annual food drive last month and raised more than $1,000 from community donations, and gathered more than 100 pounds of non-perishable food.
The funds and food were donated to Bandon Feeds the Hungry, a nonprofit organization that distributes 100 percent of monies and food to Bandon nonprofit food assistance programs.
The recipients include Bandon Good Neighbors, Everyone At Table (E.A.T), Bandon Senior Meals/Meals on Wheels, Coastal Restoration Worship Center Food Pantry, and Food & Faith, a new local nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless individuals and families. Other recipients have included the Bandon Community Youth Center and the Bandon Police Department’s Holiday With a Hero event.
To donate to Bandon Feeds the Hungry, mail a check to P.O. Box 566, Bandon, OR 97411. Any questions can be directed to Amy Moss Strong, president, Bandon Feeds the Hungry, 541-290-9989. Donations can also be given directly to individual food assistance organizations. See the flyer below for contact information.
