Description

Members of the Portland Public Schools board at a recent groundbreaking for a new Cleveland High School. The school board voted 6-0 with one abstention this week in favor of a budget for the upcoming school year, but no one was happy about it.

The seven members of the Portland Public Schools board tried desperately to avoid signing off on a months-in-the-making $1.09 billion operating budget for the upcoming school year, before reluctantly casting their votes as the clock ticked toward midnight Tuesday.
