1/6/24 - LCSO Case #24-0019 Deputies arrest driver for DUI after van drives into water On January 2nd around 10 p.m., deputies responded to a single vehicle stuck in the water at the west end of Royal Avenue. The driver, Michelle Renee Mart, 54, had walked to an area residence, and fire personnel later assisted a passenger out of the vehicle. Deputies contacted Mart and observed signs of impairment. After additional investigation, Mart was arrested for DUI. Please consider others on the road in the new year: - Plan your safe ride home ahead of time - If you drink or use drugs, do not drive for any reason - If you know someone has been drinking or using drugs, don't let them drive - If you host a party with alcohol, make sure all guests leave with a sober driver - And please, always wear your seatbelt!
