Description

Since 2018, the city has fixed or installed about 1,500 curb ramps a year as part of the settlement agreement reached with mobility-disabled residents. The work, much of which consists of replacing existing ramps with new ones, is set to conclude in 2030.

Portland officials say the projected cost of upgrading or installing thousands of curb ramps on city sidewalks to make them more accessible has surged by hundreds of millions of dollars since the city began the project as part of a legal settlement seven years ago.
