Description

The school receives Title 1 funding from the federal government. Portland Public Schools is withholding some of that funding as it plans next year's budget, because of the uncertainty around the Trump administration's decisions.

As Portland Public Schools firms up plans to cut about $40 million worth of staffing and programs from its budget for the upcoming school year, the district’s decision to preemptively withhold 25% of its main source of federal aid has emerged as a particular sticking point.
