Chandler Patey, 29, rents an apartment near the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in South Portland and allows protesters to use it to use the bathroom and wash off pepper spray. He is an active participant in the protests himself.

The federal government has singled out a prominent Portland protester as the possible “leader of Antifa” in a U.S. Department of Homeland Security watchlist, according to a report from independent journalist Ken Klippenstein.
