Description

Youth in Ashland, Oregon rally in support of a carbon pollution fee for installing natural gas systems in new residential buildings. Following Ashland's adoption of the fee last year, Bend is the second city in Oregon to adopt what's essentially a tax on natural gas in new residential construction.

Bend will soon levy a fee on natural gas appliances installed in newly built homes, a move city officials say will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve public health and advance their climate action goals.
