An air quality alert was reported by the National Weather Service on Friday at 4:08 p.m. in effect until Saturday at 5 a.m. for Lane County Cascade Foothills and Cascades of Lane County.
"The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency have issued an Air Quality Advisory, which is IN EFFECT FROM 10 a.m. SATURDAY TO 8 p.m. MONDAY. An Air Quality Advisory for Smoke has been issued. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels due to smoke and ozone at times through Monday. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition," describes the weather service.
