DEQ release - QUICK FACTS - Location: Crook, Jefferson, southern Wasco counties; End date: Monday, Aug. 31, 2026 at noon; Smoke sources: Multiple wildfires in Oregon.  The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory for Crook, Jefferson, and southern Wasco Counties on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026.  DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until at least noon on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area.  DEQ expects intermittent smoke in Baker, eastern Clackamas and Deschutes Counties from Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, through Monday, August 31, 2026, at noon.  Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on weather.
