Description

Portland officials concede they still have a lot of work to do, despite numerous city-sponsored education efforts — including paying $675,000 to nonprofit and community groups to conduct voter outreach —  in the months leading up to last November’s election.

Portland is putting more money and staff behind efforts to educate residents about the city’s ranked-choice voting system that saw diminished voter engagement during its debut last fall, especially among historically underrepresented groups.
